Match Confirmation Procedure
IT IS THE CLUBS’ RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE REFEREE
If you have accepted an appointment BUT have not received confirmation from the club of a Saturday fixture by TUESDAY prior to the fixture, you must contact the Appointments Team. You may then be re-appointed or made available to a suitable level game. If you don’t ring you may not be able to be re-appointed to another fixture.
It is important to note that ALL the Society appointments will be posted on WTR system including Saturday, Sunday and Midweek, and that

YOU MUST NOT CRY OFF VIA TEXT MESSAGE AS TXTS DO NOT TRANSFER ON OUR SYSTEM USE OF WHATS APP OR OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA IS PROHIBITED
DO NOT POST CALL OFFS ON WHATS APP AS NOT ALL THE APPOINTMENT TEAM USE THE SYSTEM It's fine to inform the Whats App group a game is not playing for info and as part of general discussions as per our social media policy.
It is not acceptable to attempt to influence who gets games via the use of any form of social media. The appointments committees are the sole controller of games and the referee who will be appointed. Members of the society are prohibited from engaging in actions that seem to/may or do impact the appointment of referees.
For the avoidance of doubt, only the RFU may appoint Assistant Referees, and this term has a specific meaning in terms of remit and input. On occasions and solely under the expert guidance of the A&G team will LADS appoint a referee and two touch judges.
If a referee goes to a game with another referee and runs touch then they should be aware
that:-
a) The A&G team may need the extra referee and may appoint them to a game at short notice;
b) At some clubs this may be taking the role of a club member and will not be well regarded;
c) They are NOT an AR and should not be referred to as suchOR have input into a game other than to aid in try conversion attempts, mark touch and offside lines;
If a referee is not appointed to a game as a society referee by the appointments team then they are not covered by the protections afforded by society membership and they may not be covered by RFU insurance.
Ignorance is no defence to breaching the application of this process.
Referees must respect RFU core values at all times.
