Annual Wooden Spoon Charity Dinner
Anfield - Friday 23rd November, 1pm start
The Annual Wooden Spoon Charity Dinner is being held at Anfield on the afternoon of Friday 23rd November, 1pm start.
This was a charity very much supported by David Matthews and this year Helen, David’s wife, will be attending and saying grace, a role previously undertaken by David.
The event is very much supported by our local clubs with many of them organising tables of guests. Stan Bagshaw, from Liverpool St Helens, who is organising the dinner has told me there are now almost 200 attending. The guest speaker this year is former England and British Lion John Bentley, who will be supported by a local comedian too. I am hoping we can get a “Referee Society Table” together to support the dinner. If you would like to join me could you please let me know in the next few days and I will make all the necessary arrangements. The cost is £60 pp, a little expensive but I am sure you will agree it is a good cause. Please let me know if you would like to commit to this with a quick email to Daveedmunds@ntlworld.com
